Hastelloy C2000 (UNS N06200 / W.Nr. 2.4675) is unique among the versatile nickel-chromium-molybdenum materials in having a deliberate copper addition. This provides greatly enhanced resistance to sulfuric acid. Hastelloy C2000 also has a high chromium content, to maximize its resistance to oxidizing chemicals and process streams contaminated with ferric ions and dissolved oxygen.
Hastelloy C2000 Features
Designed to resist an extensive range of corrosive chemicals, including sulfuric, hydrochloric, and hydrofluoric acids
Unlike previous Ni-Cr-Mo alloys, which were optimized for use in either oxidizing or reducing acids, Hastelloy C2000 alloy extends corrosion resistance in both types of environments
The combination of molybdenum and copper (at levels of 16 and 1.6 wt. %, respectively) provide the outstanding resistance to reducing media, while oxidizing acid resistance is provided by a high chromium content (23 wt. %).
Hastelloy C2000 Applications
- Chemical process industry reactors, heat exchangers, columns, and piping
- Pharmaceutical industry reactors and dryers
- Flue gas desulfurization systems
