Hastelloy G3 is a nickel-chromium-iron alloy with additions of molybdenum and copper. It has good weldability and resistance to intergranular corrosion in the welded condition. The low carbon content helps prevent sensitization and consequent intergranular corrosion of weld heat-affected zones. Used for flue-gas scrubbers and for handling phosphoric and sulfuric acids.
Hastelloy G3 alloy has high tungsten and molybdenum contents, which makes it resistant to corrosion.
Hastelloy G3 is a chilled nickel-based alloy with superior performance. The high nickel and molybdenum content extends the acidic use limit of the alloy, while also providing excellent chloride and dissolved oxygen resistance. When the temperature is as high as 400°F, It has strong corrosion resistance in strong acid environments such as high chloride.
It is added with molybdenum and copper, so it can resist corrosion in reducing media. The low carbon content helps prevent the sensitization of the welding heat-affected zone and the subsequent intergranular corrosion. Hastelloy G3 has high strength, hardenability, good toughness, small deformation during quenching, high creep strength and lasting strength at high temperatures, and good weldability and intergranular corrosion resistance in the welded state.
